Science Innovation and Technology Mixer

On the margins of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction
As the deadline of the Sendai Framework approaches, disaster risk continues to grow—demanding more than business-as-usual responses. At this critical moment, the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the Geneva Science-Policy Interface (GSPI) invite you to a dynamic and informal Science, Innovation & Technology Mixer aimed at catalysing bold partnerships and creative thinking for disaster risk reduction.
This is not a conference session. There will be no presentations, no speeches, and no fixed agenda—just space to connect, exchange, and challenge assumptions around a set of thought-provoking questions.
The Mixer brings together a rich network of individuals and organisations working at the intersection of science, technology, innovation, and policy, including:
- Scientific institutions, research consortia, and academic networks
- Universities, think tanks, and foundations
- Members of the UN Innovation Network
- Technology developers and digital innovators
- Switzerland’s vibrant research and innovation community
- Youth organisations and emerging voices
- Donors, finance experts, and risk reduction practitioners
- Government representatives and policy leaders
A team of Provocateurs will help spark meaningful dialogue, foster new connections, and surface unexpected insights. This is a chance to break silos, shift perspectives, and explore new ways to address rising disaster risk together.
The venue is Campus Biotech, located just a short walk from the main Global Platform venue.
Participation
